About Bradley Harris

Composer & Pianist

Bradley Harris is an American composer from Atlanta, Georgia. His sound is a fusion, rooted in classical, that draws influences from the jazz, gospel, hip hop and progressive rock music that colored his upbringing.   Many of his works share a common theme, portraying adaptability and constant transformation with an interplay between familiarity and change. Using literal and metaphoric lenses to explore the journey of existence, his thematic and musical sensitivity reflects his own journey- one of self discovery and the search for meaning and expression- with no predetermined destination.

Mr. Harris has been composing for over 15 years, creating an array of works commissioned by artists in the US and around the globe.  He appeared in the documentary, Hear Us, which told the story of three young, gifted musicians from across the world who commissioned him to write the Trio Concerto, #Yo, which premiered on PBS in over 300 U.S. cities. It is currently on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.  Mr. Harris’ cultural sensitivity in music was celebrated in the 30 Americans  exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum, where he composed and debuted a series of pieces inspired by the works of significant African-American artists.  Bradley was commissioned by Timothy Northcut to write Adrift for University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Brass Band and was commissioned to write the upbeat quartet, Summer City, for Kelly Prouty of American Ballet Theatre through Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music and Performing Arts.  He has given lectures on his creative approach at the New York Public Library for DEEP LISTENING: Contemporary Composers of the New York Scene .

Bradley graduated from Shorter University with a degree in piano performance and received his master’s degree in composition from the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music. He currently resides in New York City.
